I like digging up old articles/photos/videos from yesteryear that I really admired both then and now to present them to those who might have never been exposed to them. I’m especially fond of Hitchcock and this Vanity Fair shoot that was done a couple years back.

Vanity Fair has an amazing Hitchcock inspired photo spread featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, taken by some of the top photographers on the market. There are several spreads and over 20 stars by the likes of Charlize Theron, Benicio Del Toro, and Jodi Foster to name a few. The superb photos are accredited to Julian Broad, Art Strieber, Mark Seliger, and Norman jJan Roy.

Most of these photos should look familiar as the actors have been placed into well known Hitchcock movies such as The Birds, Dial M For Murder, and North By Northwest. These are just a fun, great set of photographs that make me want to turn on the tube and pop in my Hitchcock collection. Pretty sweet, huh?

Before the iPad first appeared on store shelves, people, blogs, and T.V. stations were discussing everything it was capable of doing and everything it lacked. Of course, there were plenty of people who were skeptical about why they needed it and how Apple would convince them it was worth purchasing. Many questioned why Apple created a “bigger iPhone or iPod touch”.

But, the more I think about the iPad and its presence, the more I’m convinced that this product was meant for consumption. The video above, created by Jesse Rosten, is pretty good proof. Honestly, I’d be hesitant to velcro an iPad down to anything but it’s really fun to see how the device can be used in multiple scenarios.

We know the economy is currently in a bit of a tough spot, but nothing could get things rolling better than a stimulus shot compliments of the graphic arts students from UIW. “Help Is On The Way” was more than our shows slogan, it was a pledge of the creative recovery plan.

A big thanks to all who showed up at the Stimulus design show at the Radius Café Thursday night in San Antonio. We had a really great turnout and all of the hard work and months of planning surely paid off. A great environment, free food, booze, and great friends made it an ideal send off and a great precedent for future shows.

I recently stumbled onto a unique little blog titled, How’s Your Weekend? that’s dedicated to weekends – or people throughout the world sharing photos of how they’re spending their weekends. My weekends are usually homework induced and laundry driven so it’s nice to live vicariously for a few minutes.

via How’s Your Weekend:

Most of us spend most of our time on daily routines, be it at work, studio or school. And weekend becomes a precious time to enjoy with friends or family or well, a me-time sounds nice too. What are you up to this weekend? How’s your weekend? is a collective photography project dedicated to the weekends. Here at How’s your weekend? we want to share how people around the world spend their weekends. Everyone has a story, share your weekend with us and see what others do too.

Joanne Chan | Luna Park, USA

Date night at Luna Park! This was the first time in ages I walked through here at night and it’s so wonderfully kitch and fun.

Reanna Evoy | Melbourne, Australia

I spent the weekend looking for numbers in Melbourne. With my camera in tote, I explored the city’s laneways in search for interesting typography. Walking around I found so many graphically bold urban scene and signs which I think make Melbourne such an intriguing place to be.

Sundari Carmody | Bali, Indonesia

I took these photos on the last weekend that I was in Bali. The photos are of my sister and I riding a bike in the back streets where I live. It’s my Mum’s antique Dutch bike that doesn’t quite turn right or brake properly hence the picture of the bike in the wall!

Dawn Tan | Melbourne, Australia

The long weekend called for some forest hiking, twig picking, and of course, scones with jam and heaps of cream.

Michelle | Phillipines

The trip to Philippines was much more than a vacation for me. It was a time to go home.

These are just individual photos of a series of one adventure. So, if you’re awfully fond of a certain photo be sure to view the whole series.

How’s Your Weekend is taking photo submissions. So, if you’re interested be sure to read the About section of the website. Just follow the link listed below.
