Just thought I’d mix things up again with this one and combine a photo/vector layout before I get too comfortable with a purely vector composition. No, there aren’t any subliminal messages hidden in this wallpaper. I’m not rooting for England in the World Cup ;)

I’m a history buff and with the recent archaeological findings highlighted on CNN in the past week, I thought it would be fun to dig up (get it?) some old illustration work from my illustration encyclopedia for some inspiration. Lo and behold, a few hours later, I came up with this kooky idea of a sea monster greeting a passing ship. Strange? Maybe. Interesting? Definitely. Enjoy!

Sorry for the delay on this one, folks. May has been a pretty eventful month and this is the earliest I could get the wallpaper to you all. I was able to spend a little more time on the wallpaper seeing as I have since graduated and can focus my attention on such tasks. Characters take a little longer to develop (which was part of the reason for the delay) & I didn’t want to get caught in a repetitious pattern of architecture for the wallpapers so I threw something more…unique in the mix.

Our Hero…Woke Up Late.

The idea behind this wallpaper was to have a viking who is late for a raid and has been abandoned by fellow vikings who are presently on their longships in the hazy ocean (Can you see them? Just there, behind him). And yes, he’s pant less.

For those who are wondering why there ‘s no May wallpaper up, don’t worry! I’m graduating in less than a week and with it comes finals and with finals come stress and all of my available time is being put into that…for now. But hey, this is actually something good. I’ll be able to spend more than one afternoon/evening on the wallpaper and turn out something even better.

So, thanks for everyone’s patience. Oh! I will be adding the iPad option to the May wallpaper. So, get yours soon! (I myself don’t own an iPad but I hear these wallpapers look mighty fine on them).
